Elena Rybakina defeated Ons Jabeur in the Wimbledon final

Perhaps Walter Clopton Wingfield would say: “I just wanted you all to play tennis, damn it!” This hype after the Elena Rybakina victory at Wimbledon is as unpleasant as the ban on the participation of Russian and Belarusian tennis players in it. The WTA and ATP called this ban a gross violation of sports ethics. Now everyone is talking about how awkward everything turned out, since Rybakina is the Russian, although she stands for Kazakhstan. In all, this is bad, that the scandal of the current Wimbledon contradicts all its traditions of restraint and moderation, to all its imperial style, which the organizers try to preserve with all their might.

23-year-old #23 Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan) defeated 27-year-old #2 Ons Jabeur (Tunisia) 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 in 1 hour and 48 minutes in the Wimbledon final. She became the new Wimbledon champion after the former #1 Ashleigh Barty! Rybakina rightfully deserved this title. There is no doubt about it.In the first set, Rybakina made a lot of unforced and sometimes strange errors. It was all the more surprising that this modest charming girl managed to adapt to Jabeur’s tactics and completely change the course of the match. This big win should give her the self-confidence she lacked in so many tournaments.

It is curious that Rybakina may have not passed so far if other strong tennis players took part in the tournament. Naomi Osaka, for example, refused to participate due to the fact that Wimbledon was deprived of ranking points. Yes, and Ons Jabeur had real chances of winning the final. Nevertheless, she could not win the sixth game of the third set, having three breakpoints (0-40). Rybakina won primarily because, unlike Ons Jabeur, showed amazing composure. She, as usual, did not try to win at all costs. She did not arrange a circus performance after her great victory. What an example of restraint and moderation for the organizers of Wimbledon and the royal family from a girl who does not have a drop of blue blood.
